Many of the chemicals used to clean and maintain swimming pools are alkaline and raise the pH level of the water. This can cause the water to become cloudy and surfaces to scale. The acid in the alkali reducer works to reduce the alkalinity of the water. This improves the quality of the water and the comfort of swimmers.
