Polishes & Shellacs

This range includes polishes & shellacs that help to provide an excellent finish to wooden surfaces such as antique furniture.

Shellacs such as Barrettine Patent Knotting can be used to seal knots and wood with a high amount of resin. This is done before painting to prevent the resin from affecting the drying process.

Our range of polishes provide a high gloss finish to wooden surfaces, ideal for furniture designed to be the centrepiece of a room.

Different polishes & shellacs are better suited to different colours and types of wood, and are best applied in different ways. Please see the page for each product for full details of their uses.
