Thermoguard Steel Fire Paint Primer is a high build primer with exceptional corrosion resistance and grip to steel and previous primers. It works to provide an ideal surface to apply intumescent paint to.
Ideal for use under Thermocoat WI, Thermocoat WO & Thermocoat S, for corrosion resistance in normal buildings or as part of a high corrosion resistant system when overcoated with Thermoguard Flame Retardant Paints.
Designed for steel frames that require full or partial fire protection with Thermocoat intumescent paint.
The heat of a fire triggers a catalytic reaction. This causes the expansion of an insulating char layer up to 50 times the paint thickness. This layer keeps the steel below its critical temperature, which maintains the structural integrity of the building.
Thermoguard Thermocoat WI is for use on Universal Beams, Columns and other open section steel.
Thermoguard Thermocoat WO is for use on CHS, SHS and RHS hollow sections.
