Pliocem® Clear Concrete Sealer is a Pliolite® based breathable clear sealer, perfect for use on cured and or mature concrete or masonry. Use as a sealer before applying subsequent coatings such as Pliocem Masonry Paint,Trutex Masonry Paint or Carbotread Floor Paint. Use also as a stand alone concrete dust proofer to bind a concrete surface to help reduce dust and flaking material.
Excellent sealing and adhesion properties, it’s also great for use on new or bare masonry.

Keep coated areas dry for a minimum of 24 hours following application.

Preparation
Surface Condition: The substrate must be sound, clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, and laitance. Ensure all traces of foam release agents are removed.
New Concrete: Newly laid concrete should be left to cure for at least 6 weeks before applying the sealer.
Smooth Surfaces: Power-floated, granolithic, or very smooth surfaces should be roughened first (mechanically abraded or acid-etched) to provide a “key” for adhesion. If etching, rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely.
Repairs: Treat any fungal or algal growth with a fungicidal wash and repair any cracks or defective areas before application.
Sanding: A light sanding with a suitable abrasive material is recommended to ensure a clean, solid surface. Remove all resulting dust or loose particles.
Application
Mixing: Stir the sealer thoroughly for a few minutes using a drill stirrer or a wooden baton (at least 2 inches wide). Continue to stir occasionally during use to maintain consistency.
Methods: Apply by brush, short-to-medium pile solvent-resistant roller, or spray.
Technique: Work the sealer well into the surface. Work around the edges with a brush first, then use a roller in even, straight lines. Maintain a “wet edge” to ensure an even coating and avoid missing patches.
Coating System:
* Can be used as a standalone dustproofer (usually 1–2 coats) or as a primer/base coat for subsequent paints like Pliolite Masonry Paint or Carbotread Floor Paint.
* Apply the first coat and allow it to dry.
* A second coat can be applied as soon as the first is dry (usually after 12–24 hours).
Recoat Window: Subsequent coats should be applied within 5 days. If more than 5 days elapse, the first coat must be lightly abraded (sanded) before applying the next.
Conditions: Apply when the ambient temperature is at least 10°C and the substrate temperature is at least 3°C above the dew point.
Spray Application: If using airless or conventional spray, a dilution of no more than 10% with Palatine White Spirit is recommended.

Hard Dry: 18 hours.
